A Leon Cowen try proved to be the difference between Salford and Halifax in Round 8 of the Betfred Championship on Friday Night, as the Panthers secured back-to-back wins.
Likewise, Jordan Lilley was the man of the hour for Sheffield Eagles as he produced the match-winning moment on Sunday.
The Eagles scored a late try through Kieran Gill as the hooter sounded and Lilley stepped up to ensure his side would secure a vital two points on the road against Dewsbury Rams.
At the same time, Doncaster made it six Championship wins in a row with a terrific 13-try victory over Swinton Lions at the Eco-Power Stadium.
Richard Horne's side were well on their way to success at half time with a 40-point lead thanks to a Tom Holmes brace and tries from Connor Robinson, Jacob Jones, Edene Gebbie, Pauli Pauli and Reece Lyne.
Lyne and Pauli both completed braces after the break, while Gebbie completed his hat-trick and Titus Gwaze and Muizz Mustapha added further tries.
The Dons move up to second in the table, just two points behind the league leaders London Broncos.
And the Broncos continued their 100% winning record with a victory over Batley Bulldogs in the capital.
Liam Tindall, Luke Smith and James Meadows all bagged braces on Sunday afternoon, as London continued their relentless run.
A gutsy encounter unfolded between Keighley Cougars and Midlands Hurricanes, although the Canes always led and managed to see out a win.
Midlands now occupy third place in the table.
It was three wins on the spin for Newcastle Thunder who were too strong for Workington Town Crusaders in Round 8.
Jack Smith and King Vuniyayawa were at the double in the Northeast’s action, with this victory taking them up to fourth place and level on league points with Barrow Raiders and Sheffield.
A points fest occurred at Colwyn Bay with 72 points scored between North Wales Crusaders and Whitehaven.
The Crusaders were leading 22-0 at half-time, with the second half proving to be a much more even contest.
It was a day to remember for Declan Patton, who crossed for five tries on home soil.
Elsewhere, Oldham scored 44 unanswered points against Hunslet, with seven different try scorers.
Then, Rochdale Hornets kept up their chase for a Play-Off spot by beating Goole Vikings.
